The Chinese A-shares saw a surge in value as investors speculated that the government would take steps to revive the struggling economy following the release of weak economic data. The Chinext Price Index, which is dominated by technology companies, experienced the biggest jump in eight months, while the other indices such as Shanghai Composite, Shenzhen Component, and CSI 300 also saw increases.
