Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, recently acknowledged that the Fed had significantly underestimated the effects of inflation over the past two years. Speaking to the press on June 29th, 2022, Powell stated, “I think we now have a better understanding of how little we understand inflation,” and admitted that the Fed’s inflation forecasts had been “wrong.” [/s2If]
